Blizzard censors Shakes and Fidget

Postby Lanthroviel » Tue May 12, 2009 3:55 am

So, I guess you probably already know it now, but Blizzard send a C&D arrest to the creators of Shakes And fidget, and apparently asked to censor some of their comics, until they modify "some stuff"...

I guess they did that because they didn't showed the copyrights of WoW in their comic yet used it's content, I don't know...

I don't think DLC will have this problem, but what do you think of that guys?

Personnaly, if ,unlike Krom, I don't think that WoW is the worse game ever played, I'm starting to think that Blizzard become the most greedy and selfish company ever...
Hell, they even makes me forgive ubisoft...
Web... Web has changed....

Hey!

Never heard of that bevor I've read this Thread. I've read most of the comics and didn't find anything offending. I think Lanthroviel is right, and it's all about the money.

Or Blizz is bored...

Pretty sure the issue here is that the application they were using to distribute the comics via iPhone was a paid version. As such, since the comic features settings/items that are very closely related to the game, it means they are profiting off of Blizzard, which is a no-no. Similar rules are set in place for people that create Machinimas. Other companies would do the same thing.

Had the application been free, then there would be no need to alter the comic to seem less WoW-ish, as Blizzard wouldn't have minded for non-commercial purposes.
