WoW Population peaked/declining?

I just thought when was the last time blizzard announced a new breakthrough in players?Last time I remember was I think over a year ago and around 11 million (not sure which)but since i've heard nothing.Maybe its just no new expansion has been around the corner or maybe players has started leaving wow.

Regarding the number of WoW players, they took a big hit in China.
Blizzard does not actually run WoW in China, it is licenced to some local company, and right now they are in between licences. This means millions of players disappeared overnight.

Second, wotlk has not even been released there yet. As you maybe heard, they are not allowed to show forsaken and scourge in China like they do over here, exposed bones are not allowed f ex. In other words, releasing wotlk with all the undead, becomes a bit of a problem.

Apparently WoW was banned in China cause the Suicide, and Un-employment rates went up...

no, it was because The9 could not renew the contract to get WoW to China

Yeah, it's the probleme with the9, as they moved to NetEase.Also, the bones, for some reason they are afraid of them, maybe it's the culture.

yes it is a matter of culture, and all icons in the game showing skulls and/or bones have been changed into bags.
