But ... but .... but ... this IS the WoW section. "Discuss anything relating to World of Warcraft"....... This may be the only thing you have in the right section. Still ... bug the good people at thottbot. They'll be more than happy to deal with, I mean answer your questions.

Bug the people at WoWhead, thottbot is awful in comparison.

And to answer your question: An enhancement shaman over level 40 should be using one-handed maces, axes and fists. Whilst an elemental shaman should be using a shield and any one-hander that has spell damage/healing on it.
Oh and by the way i was being sarcastic!

Resto, since it's the only one that's viable in this day of "your spec is the most important thing and if you spec'd differently than whatever's viable you're a cockhead."

Not trying to knock, but I'd suggest respecing to enh/ele, not enh/resto. For leveling purposes resto is not it. You can put points into resto for Eley for end spec purposes though, hit %. But leveling, go with mostly if not all enh.

enh/resto offers more survivability whilst levelling, and +3% hit is a godsend with the awful itemization of pre-bc.

But wolform, your only level 44, i'd strongly recommend this build. Pick up two weapons (mace/axe/fist) that are either 2.40 or slower and buff them both with windfury, then watch your dps soar.

Edit: The great JT, Resto is a great spec but its not the only viable spec, where not playing in the Azerothian days. Enhancement shamans are essential to 25-mans and Elementals provide fantastic dps too. Whilst Enhancement is appalling in pvp, Ele can hold its own. With wotlk talents and the 3.0 patch (coming soon) expect enhancement to shine again with improved ghost wolf.

BC: Resto goes Enh for sub-spec. Always.
BC: Enh goes Resto sub-spec. Always.
BC: Ele goes Rest for sub-spec. Always.
LK: Resto still goes Enh.
LK: Enh goes Ele as sub-spec instead.
LK: Ele goes Enh as sub-spec instead, or 30/0/41 for Eleresto.

Do not question my sources. They are infallible.
