Ugh, yeah, they are pretty similar. It was definitely unintentional, and had I read that specific PA comic in the past I wouldn't have written this one to be honest.
It's one of the reasons I don't read other gaming comics. I'm too worried one of the jokes will work its way into my subconscious. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop me from accidentally coming up with a joke that someone's already done (which is a less likely occurrence, but it happens).
It's definitely one of my biggest fears when writing a comic. It has happened before (the one about disenchanting in front of NPC's faces), and it definitely feels super crappy. Its basically a feeling of unoriginality and guilt all rolled into one.
Kudos to Penny Arcade though, they did a great job with that one.
