Whoa whoa whoa, those are REALLY awesome!

They look very lifelike, impressive, considering what you started with!
[size=0]... but Nepeta isn't cute enough :33[/size]

The sketches in the post above them and the colored characters in that last post are totally unrelated, lol. The sketches are all my own characters and the colored characters with the candycorn horns are all © Andrew Hussie (www.mspaintadventures.com).

I think you missed the invisitext ^^. And I meant "considering how the character look like as drawn by Hussie".
[size=0]I've been a Homestuck fan since around August 2010, lurking 4 chan /co/ general threads ever since... well, until November 2010 at least and my new obsession (see pic <<)[/size]

Oh, yeah I did miss the invisitext since I was just rushing to reply lol. Yeah Nepeta was actually the hardest one for me to draw because of the stupid hat :C I've been on MSPAchan (depressingly enough) posting pictures of the fanart that I do, hahaha.

Edit: this too

Whoa new forum strange compression aaaaaaaa

Anyway yeah, got this done in about 7.5 hours ;-; I don't think it's too bad considering it's 6 characters though!

Image

I hope this strange compression doesn't smush this.

Edit: oh boy raptorbane you're so good at image tags

Edit2: WONK WONK compression ruins it. This is kinda lame :C

How's that? Or would you prefer oversized images were resized down.

This is perfect 8D I don't know if oversized images being sized down would be so great though D8 'cause something like that image above might have the longest dimension reduced to, for example, 1200px and it'd be garbled into a teeny-tiny set of blobbed colors that are significantly less pleasing to view :C

like so.

Tried painting backgrounds, didn't have much fun. Need to practice more. NOW FOR SOMETHING SPECIAL

Image

Go places while you can.

Ageha Chou is a Porno Graffitti song about a traveller, and the name means Swallowtail Butterfly. This particular PG song is special to me, as it's the first of their songs I ever heard and I had it on my iPod for a year before realizing it might be worth my time to look into the band. :')

The song itself essentially gives me the message to go places while you can. I don't really know why it gives me that message, but it does, and it's kinda refreshing.

I'm really glad I was able to do this picture as decently as I had hoped to, because this song really is special to me in a (probably weird) way C:

Google :B Search up some tutorials on dA.

http://alexds1.deviantart.com/gallery/1604172 I use pretty much all of these when I need to learn anything particular, but if something's not there then I'm kinda on my own. I can draw pretty much anything with reference (anyone probably can) so if you're having trouble drawing something, Google some photos of them, trace the photos in Photoshop if you have to (obviously if you post that anywhere make sure to link back to your source and credit them 'cause asdafas) then gradually move on to just sketching from looking. Draw from life every day, at least once. You'll probably hate it forever and feel like it doesn't help you with anything but trust me, it really really really does help. You'll learn how you perceive things and that'll help you develop your style subliminally, so you don't have to worry about that consciously at all.

I recently read an interesting blog post regarding art, you should give that a read. It's pretty inspiring at the same time that it is informative. I definitely suggest you scour the internet for tutorials related to what you're looking to do though, as well as finding some other artists who are interested in similar things as you. If possible, talk to some of 'em, pick their brains and try to get them to reveal their ancient Chinese art secrets (we all have them, believe no one who says otherwise). Hey, you might even make a couple like-minded friends at similar skill level who you can kind of mirror-inspire :> I have a few friends like that and we'll sit around drawing on a livestream or in skype or whatever and be all jabbin' one another about stupid stuff, it's all fun.

ANYWAY YEAH, TL;DR: Google everything.

Here, have a picture. I practised backs, color and dynamic poses today.

Yeah the odds of you ever liking what you make are low lol. Lenses of intent and all that jazz.

i can tell that in 8 years of graffiti or so, i learned a lot from not liking what i did most of the time, offcourse now and then i was like "hell i'm good..." the other times i was like "HOW COULD I DO SOMETHING SO BAD!? LOOK AT THIS!AND THAT!AND THAT!"..and nobody notices..
