This is a random drawing I made for my sister's birthday, I thought some of you might be interested to see it. Because of its size, it's probably easier to navigate the drawing on deviantart here. But I'll post it here anyway.

Those little white guys look almost exactly like the little white guys from the movie Princess Monoke. Interestingly enough, they were called/referred to as forest spirits and there was this huge honking tree that the main character says is probably their mother.

Any connections there Keydar?

Yes. Though I haven't seen that movie in over a decade, those little forest spirits have always stuck with me and have been a big inspiration in a lot of my work (there is something I really like about asymmetrical eyes). There is also a bit of the Makkuro Kurosuke from Totoro (those little black soot spirits in the old house). And then there is of course Bone by Jeff Smith, probably my favorite comic series of all time. If you've never read bone, you need to go buy it, seriously.

I'm not exactly sure how long it took. The coloring took about four or five hours I think, I did not keep track of the inking. I drew it pretty lazily over a long period of time, and then colored it in one day when I realized her birthday was in less than a week.
